KL is a 'shoppers heaven' and has plenty of shopping malls and markets to keep the average shopper busy for hours. Clothes and shoes tend to be inexpensive and although not as cheap as Thailand and Indonesia, the range is far superior.

Electronics are reasonably priced but Singapore has a wider range and prices tend to be lower. Camera gear on the other hand is competitive with neighboring countries.

As to handicrafts, KL is probably the best place to buy these products though the range of Malaysian handicrafts is not extensive, coming mainly in the form of kites, pewter ware and pottery. Most other handicrafts you'll see are imported from neighboring countries like Thailand and Indonesia.
