Shopping
Although there are shops selling local handicraft items throughout Sabah the variety and availability is no where near as good either in quality or choice compared to Sarawak especially in Kuching and if you intend travelling to this state, then it is probably a good idea to wait till you get there to do your purchasing.
Much of what is on offer in Sabah is mass produced but there are a few reason
ble stores in Kota Kinabalu and one can buy Filipino crafts at the market or along the waterfront.
Something slightly different to take home are the dried 'bird's nests' that are used to make 'bird's nest soup'. Prices range according to quality, but it will certainly prove a worthwhile conversation piece even if not consumed upon your return 'home'.
